Am I still me with dementia? Am I still me without my memories? If only my memories remain and my body changes, am I still me? If only my memories disappear, am I still me? If I lose my right arm, is the prosthetic me? If I lose my left arm too, is that prosthetic me? If I lose both legs, are those prosthetics me? If my entire body is replaced, is that body me? Can you really settle this just by calling it the Ship of Theseus? Are the tears shed through a screen because of my words me? Is the stomach acid brought up through a screen because of my words me? Is my diary me? Is my voice me? Are my habits me? Is the data from a perfect scan of my brain me? Is an AI that learned my habits me? Is an AI that learned my memories me? If an AI perfectly copies my body too, is it me? Is an AI that remains forever the way I am me? Is a copy recreated down to every atom me? If I change my name, am I still me? If I change my face, am I still me? Is the person in my family registry me? Is the face in my passport me? If nobody knows me as me, am I still me? If the whole world calls that person "me," is that me? If the two of us stand side by side, which one is me? If the two of us stand side by side, which one will be called "me"? "You're too perfect.
